9 weeks
I am 9 weeks old today. I have accomplished a lot of things in the past few weeks. I can smile and laugh at my mommy and daddy. When I'm on my stomach, I can hold my head up for about 30 - 45 seconds before I get frustrated. I also scoot around when I'm on my stomach and occasionally when I'm on my back. I "talk" when I'm happy. I love playing on my mat and hitting the toys above my head. Bath time is one of my favorite times. I will go to the doctor again on the 3rd. I'm sure they're going to give me more shots - THAT IS NOT MY FAVORITE TIME!

My birth till now (6 days old)

I was born on September 25th at 5:13 p.m. I weighed 7lb 11oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. When they pulled me from my mommy's tummy, I immediately started screaming. I think they liked that. I was just really happy to be out - it had been a long journey.
My mommy's water broke while she was in bed. It was 12:55. She wasn't sure what had happened. When she realized it was time for me to come, she called Gam'ma and then left for the hospital. The doctors in the evaluation center said that it was time for me to come and mommy was put into a labor and delivery room. She was very lucky that the doctor on call offered her an epidural as soon as her blood work came back, even though she was only 1cm dilated. She felt very little pain while she progressed to 10cm. At about 1 something, the nurse told mommy to start pushing. She pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed...for over three hours. The doctor on call finally came in to check to see how mommy and I were doing. She thought mommy wasn't trying her best so she every time mommy had a contraction, that mean doctor yelled at her and told her to try harder. Mommy was exhausted and finally had to quit. The nurse thought I might be stuck on something but that doctor didn't seem to care. When mommy quit, they took her to the operating room and got me out. My daddy got to see and hold me for a little bit but I didn't get to see my mommy until 9 something - about 4 hours after I was born.
We had to stay in the hospital for 3 days. I was really fussy my first and second night at home. Last night, I only woke up twice! I thought it was about time for mommy and daddy to get some sleep. Maybe I'll let them get more sleep tonight too.

More pictures

Mom and Dad had their pictures taken on September 11th. These are a few pictures that Gam'ma took from behind the scenes.
I'm being a stubborn boy by not wanting to be born, though Mom is still hopeful with the start of every day. She goes to the doctor tomorrow at 10, but it doesn't really matter if she's not dilated because I heard them say that I'm being born on the 27th, even if I still don't want to come out.

Pics

Aunt Mandi told Mom to post some pictures of me inside her belly. She was going to wait until the semiprofessional pics were made this Saturday but she thought if I come before then, she won't have any recent pics - so, she took some. Mom is 37 weeks and 5 days pregnant with me in these pictures. She would like for everyone to ignore her swollen face (including her double chin), and the fact that she looks like something the cat dragged in. :)

Interesting Day
Mom had her second weekly visit today. It started off like any other visit. Her weight was the same as last week (she was very happy that she hadn't gained anymore - she thinks she's gained enough!) and her blood pressure was around her usual. Everything seemed fine. The doctor came in and said the results from the cultures they did last week were fine and then he measured her tummy. Uh oh. He said that she was measuring small and that she would need to get an ultrasound right away. It was hard for me to sleep at this point cause her heart was beating so fast - she must've been scared. She went to another office for the ultrasound but everything was fine. I could've told her that...if I could talk right now. The tech said that I weigh 6lbs 13 oz right now. I think that makes mommy nervous because my due date is not for a few more weeks and she still hasn't dilated at all. I heard her tell a bunch of people today that she's going to talk to the doctor about inducing her if things aren't progressing fast enough and I'm still gaining weight by her next appointment.
Overall, it was a very interesting day and mommy is very happy that she ended up getting an ultrasound because she got to see my face. She thinks I am absolutely perfect!!!!!!

36 weeks
On August 25th at 4:06 p.m., my newest cousin, Kate, was born. I can't wait to meet her in person.
Mom went to the doctor last Wednesday. She was hoping that she was starting to show signs that I might be coming soon, but nothing was happening. The doctor did say that I have a nice heartbeat and mom always LOVES listening to it. Mom will go back to the doctor at 8:45 this coming Wednesday, maybe something will have changed. I'm very excited to meet my parents and I know they can't wait to meet me!
On September 11th, mom is having some belly pictures made...if I haven't made my arrival by then.

My Room!
It might've taken longer than expected, but Mom and Grandma finally finished my room! Friday night, mom put away all the clothes my aunt Jessi and aunt Mandi gave me...it was a lot!!! Mom and Dad said that I don't need any more clothes. Yesterday, after lunch, Grandma came over and helped my mom with all the finishing touches. They also went to Babies R Us and got some things that I need. Mom stayed up for a long time last night waiting on Dad to come home from work so she could show him the room. He was really tired but he liked it a lot. They are both super excited to meet me. Oh yeah, I forgot to say that my Dad loves me soooooo much that he MADE my dresser and changing table! I think he did an AWESOME job!!!

28 weeks and 6 days

Mom went to the doctor Wednesday to get that shot. I only hope I'm as brave as she was when I have to get my first shots. She didn't cry or anything. The doctor measured her stomach and they listened to my heartbeat. I have a nice, strong heartbeat which makes momma smile. The doctor told her that everything was right on track. She has to start going to the doctor every two weeks now.
While with her friends tonight, mom was told that she wouldn't have to worry about daycare when she has to go back to work. On the days that my grandma can't watch me, the husband of a coworker/friend will watch me. It was such great news that it made mom cry a little. She really HATED the thought of putting me in daycare when I'm just 6 weeks old. Mom has really great friends!

Test Results
Mom called her doctor today and the nurse said that the one hour test results came back fine. She is very relieved that she does not have gestational diabetes and that she doesn't have to go back for a three hour test. She does have to go back on the 7th because she has A- blood. The doctor said that because she has that, she is RH- and my blood mixed with her blood (or something like that) can cause a build-up of antibodies that could harm any other potential brothers or sisters. When she goes back, they will give her a shot of medicine. If I turn out to have A- blood too, they'll have to give her another shot after I'm born. But, other than all that, everything is fine.

21 weeks
Tonight was the first time a stranger commented on my mom's belly. Mom and dad were in Home Depot picking out the paint for my new room when the attendant asked mom if she had swallowed a ball. There aren't any pictures of my mom's belly this week, but dad took a couple at 19 weeks. Behind mom is the wall she helped knock down. There was a lot of noise and vibrations but I think the end result looks great...and it was all done for me.
Oh, I forgot to say that I'm a very active little boy. One of my favorite things to do is kick my mom. Mom has been feeling me move for a little while but dad is just now starting to feel me kick.
